The parameters of genetic diversity and differentiation in norway spruce picea abies l. karst. and siberian spruce picea obovata ledeb populations



Genetika 27(10): 1759-1772



The values of the main indices of genetic diversity and differentiation in 7 natural populations of Picea abies and P. obovata were stated by means of the electrophoretic analysis of 27 genes. More than 70% of the genes in P. abies populations have been found to be polymorphic and each tree is on the average heterozygous under 21.5% of its genes, while those indices in P. obovata populations are 66 and 19.9%, respectively. The analysis of F- and G-statistics showed the excess of more than 3% of P. abies and P. obovata heterozygotes and the absence of essential differentiation in these species populations. The values of genetic distances Nei between populations did not exceed 0.030, which shows their close genetic relationship. Dn between P. abies and P. obovata has been found to be 0.102 and this characterizes P. abies and P. obovata as subspecies. Genetic distance between P. abies and P. obovata equal to 0.024 allows to consider P. montana as geographic race of P. abies.
