Toxicity and respiratory effects of mercuric chloride and methyl mercuric chloride on catfish mystus vittatus

Toxicity and respiratory effects of mercuric chloride and methyl mercuric chloride on catfish mystus vittatus

Uttar Pradesh Journal of Zoology 9(1): 43-47

Toxicity of Mercuric chloride (HgCl2) and Methyl mercuric chloride (CH3HgCl) in catfish, M. vittatus was studied. Effects of different concentrations on respiratory metabolism of catfish were also determined. It was found that sublethal concentration of both the substances lowered the oxygen consumption values.
