Transplantation of bisected cattle embryos

Transplantation of bisected cattle embryos

Medycyna Weterynaryjna 44(7): 412-414

Late cattle blastocysts were bisected through zona pellucida and the obtained ,,naked'' halves were transfered to synchronized recipients. Twenty nine recipients received one half each and 7 calves were born, one pair of monozygotic twins included. The second group of 29 recipients received two halves each and 8 pregnancies were obtained, 4 of which resulted in twins. The control group of 72 recipients received one intact embryo each and 26 calves were born.
