EPR was used to study the chemical composition of industrial aerosols, many of which have mutagenic and cardiogenic effects. Three aspects of the EPR study are described in detail: narrow signal, wide signal and the 6-component spectrum. The parameters of aerosol EPR spectra were determined by comparing aerosol samples with these of diphenylpicryl hydrazine and metal ions. The method was used to determine polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, other surfactants, as well as different chemical elements.
