Abstract
The fattening of young slaughter cattle was based on farm-produced fodder, supplemented with concentrates, in which rye meal was substituted for barley meal. In experimental groups the percentage of rye meal was: 25, 50 and 75, respectively. No statistically significant differences between the studied groups were found with respect to mean daily weight gains, feed conversion as well as energy and nutrients utilization per kg weight gain.
