Association of seed yield and its component traits in Indian mustard



International Journal of Tropical Agriculture 10(4): 273-276



The correlation and path co-efficient analysis was carried out for yield and its component characters in 36 genotypes of the Indian mustard. The genotypic correlations were recorded to be relatively of higher magnitude than the corresponding phenotypic correlations. The seed yield possessed a significant positive association with days to maturity, plant height, primary branches, secondary branches, and 1000-seed weight. The path analysis also revealed the importance of these traits as they had a maximum direct effect on the seed yield.
