Changes in blood concentrations and urinary excretion of vitamin B-1 following single oral administration of liquid preparations containing thiamin tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide or thiamin to healthy male adults

Changes in blood concentrations and urinary excretion of vitamin B-1 following single oral administration of liquid preparations containing thiamin tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide or thiamin to healthy male adults

Vitamins 66(9): 533-539

Liquid preparations containing 5 mg or 10 mg of thiamin tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide hydrochloride (TTFD-HCl) and 2 kinds of liquid preparations containing 10 mg of thiamin nitrate were given to healthy male subjects, and the bioavailability of vitamin B-1 after administration of each preparation was investigated. It was found that the C-max, AUC and 24-hour urinary excretion after oral administration of 10 mg of TTFD in liquid preparation was about twice those of 5 mg of TTFD in liquid preparations. No difference was observed between T-max after the administration of 10 mg and 5 mg of TTFD in liquid preparations. The C-max, AUC and 24-hour urinary excretion after the administration of 10 mg of thiamin nitrate in liquid preparations were lower than those of 5 mg of TTFD in liquid preparations.
