Cultural investigation of species of genus Agaricus L.: Fr. emend. Karst. on agarised nutrient media

Cultural investigation of species of genus Agaricus L.: Fr. emend. Karst. on agarised nutrient media

Ukrayins'kyi Botanichnyi Zhurnal 51(4): 73-81

New data about cultural features of 18 species of genus Agaricus L.: Fr. emend. Karst. were obtained. It was shown, that investigated species can be clear divided into three trophic groups according to their colony types and character of colour chemical reactions on the surface of mycelial colony: "coprophilous" humus saprophytes, "herbophilous" humus saprophytes and litter saprophytes. This division coincides with their ecological specificity in biocenoses. The growth coefficients (GC) of this species were determined on different media and under different temperature for the first time. It was shown, that all tested species of the genus Agaricus belong to the category of slow growing in pure culture. The main part of the species grow in 4-30 degree C temperature range, optimum of the mycelial growth is between 22-28 degree C, meantime A. bernardiiformis, A. bitorquis, A. campestris, A. sylvaticus, A. sylvicolus grow under 37 degree C. The results of investigations may be used for the detalisation of taxonomical positions of rare for Ukrainian mycobiota species of the genus Agarcius, elaboration of methods of their preservation and reproduction in culture's collections, clearing out the possibility of cultivation of some species.
