An atomic absorption spectroscopic method is proposed for determination of alkali and alkaline earth metals in Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena (ABTM). Sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium were measured. Determination of these metals in the ABTM matrix can be a problem. High dilution of samples eliminates the need for mineralization.
