Differentiation of populations of Siberian spruce Picea obovata Ledeb. in the Southern Urals

Genetika 33(9): 1244-1249

Using seven polymorphic isozyme loci, the genetic differentiation of Siberian spruce in the Southern Urals was studied. The heterogeneity of allele frequencies was significant at five loci. A large proportion of rare alleles specific to the zones of interspecific hybridization was revealed. Despite relatively low values of Nei's genetic distance (D = 0.016) and interpopulation diversity (FST = 3.9%), the differentiation of populations from the central mountain-forest zone of the Southern Urals, the Plateau of Ufa, and the plain of Bashkir cis-Ural region was observed.
