Estimation of apparent pharmacokinetic parameters of herba Houttuyniae and fructus Schizandrae with the method of acute mortality of animals

Estimation of apparent pharmacokinetic parameters of herba Houttuyniae and fructus Schizandrae with the method of acute mortality of animals

Journal of China Medical University 21(3): 183-186

The apparent pharmacokinetic parameters of herba Houiiuyniae and fructus Schizandrae were estimated with the method of acute mortaltiy of mice. Decocta of the two drugs were prepared and concentrated to adequate concentrations. The ip administration was used generally. All the two drugs were eliminated as first-order kinetics. The herba Houiiuyniae, distribution appeared to be a two-compartment model, the LD-50 (ip) -51.04 +- 3.63 g/kg, the t11/2-beta-16.75h. The fructus Schizandrae, distribution appeared to be a one-compartment model, the LD-50 (ip) -7.42 +- 0.65 g/kg, the t-1/2 - 10.18h.
