On the epidemiology of nocturnal enuresis - a critical review of methods used in descriptive epidemiological studies on nocturnal enuresis

On the epidemiology of nocturnal enuresis - a critical review of methods used in descriptive epidemiological studies on nocturnal enuresis

Scandinavian Journal of Urology & Nephrology Suppl. 0(163): 75-82

Existing descriptive epidemiology of enuresis nocturna does not give a reliable foundation for analytical and interventive studies. Valid and comparable data are scarce and quantitative as well as qualitative aspects need to be discussed more for this affliction with its complex background of biological and sociocultural determinants. Studies on randomly selected population are few which further complicates generalizations and comparisons. Bedwetting is a proper challenge for an interdisciplinary research approach.
