Plant virus sequences in the EMBL and GenBank nucleotide sequence databases

Plant virus sequences in the EMBL and GenBank nucleotide sequence databases

Binary Computing in Microbiology 4(5): 169-174

Software tools were developed to help in the analysis and comparison of plant viruses with sequences in the EMBL and GenBank nucleotide sequence databases, and were used to produce a composite list of plant viruses with sequences in these databases. The list contains 555 plant virus entries covering 108 different plant viruses and 12 satellites. A strategy is described which makes it easier to keep tract of the plant virus entries in future release of these databases.
