Reproductive and Development Toxicity Studies of Lafutidine (FRG-8813): 4. Teratogenicity Study in Rabbits by Oral Administration

Oyo Yakuri 50(4): 391-398

A teratogenicity study of lafutidine (FRG-8813), a histamine H-2-receptor antagonist with gastroprotective activity, was performed in Slc: NZW rabbits at dose levels of 30, 100 and 300 mg/kg/day. FRG-8813 was administered orally to pregnant rabbits from day 6 to day 18 of gestation. No dam died or aborted. In the three dosed groups, accelerated respiration was observed daily soon after the administration, and additionally miosis in the 300 mg/kg group.
