Seasonal variation in the content of metals on the earthworm Dendrobaena octaedra (Sav.) in Finnish forest soils

Seasonal variation in the content of metals on the earthworm Dendrobaena octaedra (Sav.) in Finnish forest soils

Acta Zoologica Fennica 196: 314-317

Seasonal variation in the contents of aluminium, manganese, iron, copper, zinc, cadmium and mercury of D. octaedra, the most abundant earthworm species in Finnish forest soils, was studied under field conditions. Earthworms were collected from May to October 1986 from three forest types in central and southern Finland. Metal contents were determined from earthworms with emptied guts using atomic absorption spectrometry.
