Sequencing and analysis of nucleotides of the glycoprotein gene of Chinese street strain (CGX89-1) of rabies virus

Sequencing and analysis of nucleotides of the glycoprotein gene of Chinese street strain (CGX89-1) of rabies virus

Zhonghua Weishengquxue He Mianyixue Zazhi 14(1): 10-15

The glycoprotein (GP) gene of Chinese street strain (CGX89-1) of rabies virus was sequenced. Whole GP gene sequence of CGX89-1 had 1575 nucleotides. It was capable to encode a polypeptide of 524 amino acids and result in the mature glycoprotein of 505 amino acids after the cleavage of the signal peptide. The overall base composition of GP gene of CGX89-1 was 27. 11% adenine, 26.29% thymine, 21.97% cytosine and 24.63% guanine.
