Some peculiarities of the biology and morphology of Pterodecta fselderi Brem. and systematic position of the family Callidulidae (Lepidoptera)

Entomologicheskoe Obozrenie 71(2): 442-453

Data on the biology and morphological description of the preimaginal stages of Pterodecta felderi (Bremer, 1864), a representative of the tropical family Callidulidae in the USSR fauna, are reported for the first time. Phylogenetic relations and systematic position of the Callidulidae are considered in view of the new data and functional morphology of the genitalia. Callidulidae are shown to belong to the Microfrenata, but not to the Macrofrenata, as it is usually believed.
