The genus Tinospora Miers has about 32 species in the World. In India it has only 4 species viz. T. cordifolia (Willd.) Hk. f. and Th., T. crispa (L.) Hk. f. and Th., T. glabra (Burm. f.) Merr. and T. sinensis (Lour.) Merr.
