Study of genetic diversity among released varieties of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.)

Twenty-seven released groundnut varieties formed three groups, one cluster comprising of 25 varieties and the other two comprised of only one variety each namely, M-13 and T-28. The cluster comprising of 25 varieties included varieties belonging to both spp. hypogaea and spp. fastigiata where as the other clusters comprised of varieties belonging to same spp. hypogaea. The clustering pattern shows no correlations between genetic diversity and the geographical origin.
