Study on the high yield by pot nursling of onion (Allium cepa L.): 1. Effect of the planting density on the growth and yield of onion

This experiment was conducted to establish the high yielding method by pot nursling with three cultivars, "Springsun", "Damro-chungkab" and "Cheonju-daego". Paper pots of 5.4 cm in diameter raising 4 seedlings per pot for 50 days were arranged in the field at spacing of 20 times 15 cm, 30 times 15 cm and 30 times 30 cm, respectively. The number of leaves was slightly increased by conventional nursling than by pot nursling in both "Springsun" and "Cheonju-daego".
