Solid phase intramolecular Heck coupling allows the synthesis of 2-oxindoles. Additional diversity is introduced into the molecule by reductive alkylation prior to the Heck cyclisation and also by conjugate addition of a variety of nucleophiles onto the cyclised product prior to cleavage.
