The content of heavy metals in granulometric and densimetric fractions of soils

The content of heavy metals in granulometric and densimetric fractions of soils

Pochvovedenie 1996(7): 888-898

To specify the degree of soil technogenic pollution and to assess the mobility of heavy metals, they were determined in hot water extracts and granulodensimetric fractions (light lt 1.8 and 1.8-2.8 g/cm-3 and clay lt 1 mkm), differed by the amount and properties of the organic matter and hence the ability to fix heavy metals as well as to regulate their migration and plant availability. Light and clay fractions are shown to be informative indicators of soil pollution by heavy metals; to control over their enrichment by heavy metals is the target of ecological monitoring.
