V-C horizontal diffusion cell was used to measure the transfer of metoclopramide across intact abdominal mouse skin in vitro. The effect of penetration enhancers, propylene glycol, oleic acid, and azone-propylene glycol on the permeability of metoclopramide was investigated. the results indicated the feasibility of utilization of penetration enhancers to improve the transdermal absorption of metoclopramide: The permeation coefficients of metoclopramide raised with presence of various kinds of transdermal enhancers.
