The lost gallstone: A reason or small-bowel obstruction!: A late complication after laparoscopic cholecystectomy

The lost gallstone: A reason or small-bowel obstruction!: A late complication after laparoscopic cholecystectomy

Chirurg 66(4): 443-445

Lost gallstones in the peritoneal cavity following laparoscopic cholecystectomy might cause late complications. The case presented documents a small-bowel obstruction caused by a lost gallstone (vphi 5 cm) 3 months after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Laparotomy and small-bowel resection were performed. Another 3 months later a second laparotomy was necessary because of adhesions.
