Use of C-XXI to modify the atmosphere during the cooling preservation of mangoes CV. Keitt

Use of C-XXI to modify the atmosphere during the cooling preservation of mangoes CV. Keitt

Alimentaria 35(295): 37-41, Sept

Mangoes (Mangifera indica L.) outsiane among other tropical fruits not only because of its sweet and aromatic taste, put also because of its nutritional properties since mangoes are both vitamin and mineral rich fruits. These facts explain why mangoes are a high prices item at the market. The objective of this work: was to evaluate the post-harvest preservation of mangoes by cooling at (14+-2degreeC) using combined treatment such as, heat conserver XXI and fungicide treatment employing TBZ. The study showed that a combined treatment using heat + TBZ + C-XIII, vielos the best results, since ripening of the fruits was delayed up to 21 days, keeping its commercial quality.
