Using Clostridium acetobutylicum P262 for batch acetone-butanol fermentation

Using Clostridium acetobutylicum P262 for batch acetone-butanol fermentation

Prikladnaya Biokhimiya i Mikrobiologiya 32(6): 643-645

Producing acetone and alcohols (butanol and ethanol) from corn flower mash and beet molasses by three batch cultures of Clostridium acetobutyrilicum P262 were studied. C. acetobutyrilicum cleaved completely sucrose of corn mash and molasses and produced significant amounts of ethanol, butanol, and acetone. Yields of each product depended on the time of fermentation and pH.
