Vinorelbine (navelbine) plus cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil in the management of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck - a phase II study

Vinorelbine (navelbine) plus cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil in the management of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck - a phase II study

Medical Science Research 26(4): 285-287

25 patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN) were treated using a combination of vinorelbine (navelbine - NVB), cisplatin (CDDP) and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). The following schedule was used: (1) NVB, 25 mg/m2 on days 1 and 8, (2) CDDP, 75 mg/m2 only on day 1, and (3) 5-FU, 500 mg/m2 on days 1 until 5; cycles were repeated on day 21, with a maximum of six cycles per patient. The overall response rate was 76% (28% complete response and 48% partial response).
