Anthropological genetics in the 21st century: introduction

An introduction to a special issue on anthropological genetics in the 21st century. The historical roots of anthropological genetics and the origins and current results of the Human Genome Project and the Human Genome Diversity Program are briefly reviewed, and their effect on anthropological genetics is discussed. Furthermore, the future trends and directions of anthropological genetics are extrapolated.
