Chemical studies and antiinflammatory activity of Vanda roxburghii roots

Chemical studies and antiinflammatory activity of Vanda roxburghii roots

Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences 54(4): 159-161

ISSN/ISBN: 0250-474X

The pet. ether, chloroform and methanol extracts of Vanda roxburghii roots showed 54.2%, 42.1% and 21.9% anti-oedema activity, respectively. Fractionation of the pet. ether extractive yielded tetracosylferulate (1) along with other constituents. The chloroform extractive afforded beta-sitosterol-D-glucoside.
