Comparative epidemiology of common maize rust and northern corn maize rust and northern corn leaf blight: II. Epidemic development under natural infection



Summa Phytopathologica 21(2): 131-133



Epidemic development of pathosystems Puccinia sorghi-maize and Exserohilum turcicum-maize was compared under natural infection, using the parameters number of lesions, area of lesions, disease severity, and production of spores. The number of lesions and the amount of spores per area of lesion produced by P. sorghi was higher than E. turcicum. Later pathogen showed bigger lesions and higher final disease severity than P. sorghi.
