Green-wave phenology

Nature 394(6696): 9-40

Green-wave changes in eastern North America for the period 1900-95 were examined. The term green wave refers to the mid-latitude spring onset of photosynthesis. The analysis of historical green-wave data showed that a surface-based green-wave model can extend the monitoring of climatic variability back to 1900 and provide a longer-term context for more limited, recent satellite data.
