Inheritance of some morphological characteristics, growth habit, and powdery mildew resistance in spelt wheat Triticum monococcum L

Inheritance of some morphological characteristics, growth habit, and powdery mildew resistance in spelt wheat Triticum monococcum L

Genetika 30(12): 1599-1604

Monogenic control of downiness, glume color, and coleoptile color was established in Triticum monococcum. The type of the ear characteristic of T. monococcum is dominant over that of T. sinskajae L. Resistance of spelt wheat to powdery mildew may be determined by one or two dominant genes or one recessive gene; spring growth habit is likely to be controlled by dominant alleles of one or two genes. Linkage between genes of powdery mildew resistance and coleoptile color was not observed. The genes determining coleoptile color are not linked with the genes controlling glume color.
