Variation in the results of the crossing of Triticum aestivum L. with Triticum timopheevi Zhuk

Genetika 28(9): 97-104

The crossing of six bread wheat varieties with two Triticum timopheevi forms was carried out under conditions of three different vegetations. It was shown that the genotypical diversity of maternal forms has essential influences on the variation in the results of crossings under conditions of different vegetations. Repollination significantly elevated the compatibility. The factor "conditions" has the maximum contribution to the variation in interspecific incompatibility. It was supposed that the influence of above-mentioned factors was intermediated through the anthesis dynamics of T. aestivum.
