Artificial insemination of peckin ducks with semen from muscovy drakes for obtaining of hybrids. II. Effect of number of inseminations and dose of insemination with fresh and diluted semen

An experiment was carried out for artificial insemination of Pekin ducks with semen from Muskovy drakes. Ducks were inseminated twice (I, III and V group - a dose of 0.05 ml and concentration 91.94 +- 7.44 X 106 spmz/dose) and once weakly (II, IV and VI group a dose of 0.01 ml and concentration of 180.25 +- 15.18 X 106 spmz/dose) with fresh non-diluted (I and II groups) and with semen diluted with worked out by us diluter, HIA-1 (III and IV groups) and with the French IMV-buffer (V and VI group). Insemination of ducks with semen diluted with protective media (1:1) was done after storing up to 6 hours at temperature from 0 to 4 degreeC. Fertilizing of eggs was higher after insemination with fresh non-diluted semen in comparison with diluted sperm, stored at refrigerator temperature (0-4 degreeC). The percentage of fertilized eggs was higher after insemination with newly worked out media HIA-1 vs IMV-buffer. The effect of twofold insemination was higher compared to that of single one.
