Biopsy of nonpalpable breast mass under the guidance of stereotactic mammography with hookwire

Purpose: Use of stereotactic mammography with hookwire guidance in the diagnosis of nonpalpable breast mass by biopsy. Methods: Minute nonpalpable lesions were diagnosed by biopsy under the guidance of stereotactic mammography with hookwire localization when a lesion suspicious of being malignant was shown on mammography. Results: The results showed that this procedure is quick, simple with minimal trauma and accurate. Conclusion: Biopsy taking under the guidance of stereotactic mammography with hookwire localization is effective and reliable in identification of minute, nonpalpable breast lesions.
