Characteristics of Scotch pine karyotype under industrial pollution

Characteristics of Scotch pine karyotype under industrial pollution

Lesovedenie (2): 30-36, March-April

The karyotype structure in Scotch pine trees from polluted and relatively clean habitats was studied. The differences in the total length of the diploid set of chromosomes and their morphologies were insignificant. Variation of chromosome parameters was rather low. A distinct increase of the nucleolar region number in the pine was registered under aerotechnogenic pollution.
