Clinical application of color Doppler power imaging and color Doppler flow imaging in drug-induced abortion

Objective: To evaluete the sonographic features of patients with drug-induced abortion and the clinical application value of CDPI and CDFI. Methods: One hundred sixteen patients with vaginal hemorrhage were scanned by two-dimensional ultrasound image, CDFI and CDPI. The ultrasound signal of remained tissue and the Doppler signal of the blood flow were measured in the uterine cavity. Simultaneously, the uterine size and the RI of the uterine artery were measured. Results: Almost in all of these cases, the midium (or low-grade) hyperechoes and hyperechoes were found in their uterine cavity, and the multicolor Doppler signal was found on the edge of the bottom echo. CDPI could reveal the local blood signal easily. In some of these cases the RI of uterine artery was reduced, and the size of the uterus was increased in a variety of degrees. Conclusions: CDFI can demonstrate the characteristic ultrasonographic features of tissues remained after abortion with drugs. If CDPI can be used simultaneously with CDFI, it would be helpful for diagnosis and clinic treatment.
