In a field experiment on soddy-podzolic sandy soil, different fertilization systems were comparatively studied. The most effective system was the combined application of manure of horned cattle in a dose containing 250 kilograms per hectare of nitrogen with the straw of winter rye in the amount of 5 tons per hectare. Under these conditions, the productivity of a four-field crop rotation increased 1.4 times and a self-supporting humus balance and a positive phosphorus balance in the soil were achieved.
