Distribution of GABA(B(1a)), GABA(B(1b)) and GABA(B2) receptor protein in cerebral cortex and thalamus of adult rats

The distribution of GABAB receptor subunits GABAB(1a), GABAB(1b) and GABAB2, has been examined in the cerebral cortex and thalamus of adult rats using an immunocytochemical technique. GABAB(1a) and GABAB(1b) subunits co-localized with GABAB2 in the cortex, where afferent thalamic GABAergic axons project to pyramidal neurones. The expression patterns of GABAB(1a), GABAB(1b) and GABAB(1b) subunit the thalamus.
