Comparative studies on the effects of temperature treatments on the wild type and an ethylene insensitive mutant (eti5) of Arabidopsis thaliana (L.) Heynh were performed. Thirty-day-old plants grown on soil/perlite mixture were subjected to low (4 degreeC) or high (38 degreeC) temperature for 24 h in darkness. The measurements of glutathione and activity of glutathione-S-transferase were performed 0, 24, 28 and 120 h after the cessation of the stress programme.
