Effect of seeding rate on yield of irrigated wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in the Batinah Coast of Oman

Field experiments were carried out in 1995-96 and 1996-97 cropping seasons to investigate the effect of seeding rate on yield of irrigated wheat in the Batinah Coast of Oman. Three wheat cultivars Kooli, Wadi Quriyat 151 and Wadi Quriyat 160 were grown at three seeding rates 60, 90 and 120 kg/ha. Tillering was enhanced by increasing seeding rate. Increased seeding rate resulted in taller plants, which increased lodging susceptibility.
