Evaluation of high-resolution ultrasonographic imaging in the diagnosis of intracanalicular papilloma

Objective: To evaluate the value of high-resolution ultrasonographic imaging in the diagnosis of intracanalicular papilloma. Methods: The high-resolution ultrasonographies of twenty-two cases with intracanalicular papilloma, confirmed by pathology, were studied retrospectively. Results: The high-resolution ultrasonographic findings of intracanalicular papilloma included duct dilatation with solid processes in 17 cases, cystosolid masses in 3 cases, and low-echo solid drak area in 2 cases. Twenty of twenty-two cases were diagnosed correctly by high-resolution ultrasonographic imaging. Conclusions: High-resolution ultrasonography has very important value in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of intracanalicular papillma and can provide reliable information for the diagnosis and treatment of intracanalicular papilloma.
