The purpose of this application is to conserve the subspecific name of Holacanthus ciliaris bermudensis Goode, 1876 (currently cited as Holacanthus bermudensis) for the blue angelfish (family POMACANTHIDAE), a common, relatively widespread and visually prominent marine reef-dwelling species occurring in the tropical Western Atlantic.
