Very few systematic analyses are available for the distribution of epiphytic microfungi as parasites or saprophytes in the cities of the Ruhr region, Germany. The present inventory lists Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes, and Hyphomycetes found on wild plants and ornamental plants in this region of Germany. Rare species, found for the first time in the Ruhr region are marked with an asterisk (*).
