Parasitofauna of wild and domestic geese in the Slonsk Nature Reserve

Biological Bulletin of Poznan 37(2): 267-271

The studies were carried out in the years 1994-1995 on 72 geese belonging to 4 species: Anser anser, A. albifrons, A. fabalis and A. anser dom. The examined birds were in 96.4% infected with gastrointestinal parasites. In 95.8% of birds, the nematodes (Amidostomum anseris, Trichostrongylus tenuis, Capillaria anseris, Heterakis gallinarum), in 29.2% cestodes from the family Hymenolepididae and in 13.9% trematodes (Psilotrema oligoon, Notocotylus attenuatus, Echinostoma revolutum) were found. Amidostomum anseris and Trichostrongylus tenuis were the most often established parasites.
