Abstract
The percentage of the bark has been determined by the weight method in 77 stems of Pinus nigra Arn. at different age and in different conditions of the sites. Depending on the diameter of the stems, the percentage of the bark changes from 24,4% at diameter 6 cm up to 10,8% at diameter 30 cm. With the increasing of the age from first to third class, the percentage of the bark decreases from 18,7% to 12,2%. The percentage of the bark at equal age increases with the worsening of the site conditions.
