The distribution of the mackerel icefish Champsocephalus gunnari in different stages of the life cycle was studied in the vicinity of South Georgia Island. The functional structure of the range was determined with consideration of its spatial and temporal variability. The main habitats of juveniles (individuals up to 15 cm long) were located in the southern part of the studied area; sexually immature individuals (length of 15-24 cm) were concentrated in the east and southwest, and mature fishes occurred only in the north of the area.
