The role of color Doppler energy and three-dimensional color power angiography in the diagnosis of renal neoplasm

Objective: To evaluate the clinical value of color Doppler energy (CDE) and three-dimensional color power angiography (3D-CPA) in the diagnosis of renal neoplasm. Methods: 28 cases with different kinds of renal neoplasm were examined by CDE, and 21cases were also surveyed by 3D-CPA. Results: 86% of renal neoplasm showed high blood perfusion, 62% of them were high grade perfusion, but all the benign renal tumors were low grade perfusion. 86% 3D-CPA of renal neoplasms can display "coral" cube construction. 3D-CPA stereoscopically showed the network of cancer blood vessels. Conclusions: CDE and 3D-CPA can audio-visually display renal neoplasm blood vessles because of its fair sensitivity, and it may nicely distinguish the malignant renal neoplasm from benign tumor.
