Heteropterys oxenderi, a new name for Mascagnia discolor (Malpighiaceae)

Heteropterys oxenderi, a new name for Mascagnia discolor (Malpighiaceae)

Contributions from the University of Michigan Herbarium 24: 25-27

The name Heteropterys oxenderi W. R. Anderson is proposed for the species Mascagnia discolor W. R. Anderson when it is transferred to the genus Heteropterys, in which the epithet discolor is preoccupied. Heteropterys oxenderi, known only from La Paz province, Bolivia, is related to H. sylvatica Adr.
