Isolation and characterization of thymidine and uridine kinases from marine bacteria

Thymidine and uridine kinases have been isolated from marine bacteria Pseudomonas sp. KMM 3694 and Pseudoalteromonas aurantia NCIMB 2033, respectively, using a combination of methods. These methods were represented by ammonium sulfate fractionation. DEAE-Toyopearl and hydroxyapatite chromatography, and gel filtration. Molecular masses of thymidine kinase from Pseudomonas sp. and Uridine kinase from Pseudoalteromonas aurantia were similar to 130 kDa and 160 kDa, respectively.
